Adhivo alladhivo harivasamu,
Padhi velu seshula pada gala mayamu

Charanam

1. Adhe Venkatachala makila unnathamu,
Adhivo Brahmadhula ka apurupamu,
Adhivo nithya nivasa magilamunalagu,
Nadhe choodudathe mokkudanandha mayamu.

2. Chengada nalladhivo Sesha chalamu,
Ninginunna deva thala nija vasamu,
Mungida nallathilo moolanunna dhanamu,
Bhangaru chikarala Bahu Brahma mayamu.

3. Kaivalya padhamu Vengada naga madhivo,
Sri Vengada pathiki sirulainathi,
Bhavimpa sakala sampath roopa mathilo,
Bhavana mulagella pavana mayamu.

English translation

Pallavi
Is this the place where Sri Hari lives,
I see Adhisesha's ten thousand hoods.

Charanam

1. There is the mighty Venkatachala,
There it is which is rare even to Brahma and others,
There is the permanent abode of all sages,
There I am seeing it filled with salvation and joy.

2. There you see the black Seshachala Mountain,
Which is the constant abode of all devas,
And right in front is the hidden treasure,
With its golden peaks and is full of Brahman,

3. And there is Venkata Giri the way to salvation,
Which is the head of Venkitachalapathy,
Who considers it as a place of all his wealth,
And for all the word, it is filled with divine good.


Brahma Kadugina Padamu

Brahma kadugina padamu,
Brahmamu thaneni padamu

Charanam

1. Chelgi vasudha golisanadhi padamu,
Balithala mopina padamu,
Thalakka gaganamu thannina padamu
Pala ripu kasina Padamu

2. Kamini papamukadugina padamu
Pamudala needina padamu,
Premapu sri sathi bisikedi padamu,
Pamidi thuragapu padamu.

3. Parama yogulakku pari pari vidhamula,
Vara mosa keti nee padamu,
Thiru Vengada giri thiramani chopia,
Parama padamu nee padamu.

English translation

Pallavi
The feet that were washed by Brahma,
The feet which is itself Brahmam.

Charanam

1. That feet which has won back the earth,
The feet that was recognized by Maha Bali
Which hit the skies according to the beats,
And that feet which defeated many enemies.

2. That feet which washed of the sin of Manmatha,
Those feet which danced on the head of a snake,
Those feet which was caressed by Lakshmi,
Those feet which cannot be easily attained.

3. Your feet is that which in many different ways,
Gave boons to the great sages,
And your great feet is the feet of divinity,
Which showed Vengada Giri is the last step of salvation.

1. Chalachala mamanam saskata ne kim
Kulisha hridaya bahuguna vibhavaa
Pulakita tanu sambhrita vedanaya
Malinam vahaami madham tyajami

2. Bhajabhajate Priya bhaamam satatam
Sujana stvam nija sukhanilaya
Bhuja rekhaa rathi bhoga bhavasi kim
Vijayeebhavaa mad vidhim vadaami

3. Nayana yama manu nayana vidhante
Priya kaantaayam prema bhavam
Bhaya hara Venkata pathe tvam
Madvilo bhavasi shobhitaa bhavaami

English Translation

Pallavi
I am sure that your guiding words are sufficient
For by sacrificing all undesirable things, one would become great.

Charanam

1. Has not my listless mind become stronger,
For is not a heart of a noble man, a feast of all good things,
And the pain which we get in the mind when we get overjoyed
Would carry away the dirt and sacrifice of exuberance

2. I sing and again sing always about your darling Bhama,
So that I would be able to control my fate,
Since you are a very noble one, Oh Victorious one,
And have attained pleasure by making passionate love with her

3. Her leading eye would shake your eye,
As you have attitude of love to your darling wife.
Please destroy my fear, oh Lord of Venkata
And make me shining, as I am attracted by you.

Garuda Gamana Pankaja nabha,
Parama purusha bhava bhanda vimochana,
Nara mruga sareera namo namo

2. Jaladhi sayana ravi chandra vilochana,
Jalaruha BHavanutha charana yugaa,
Bali bandhana, Gopi jana vallabha,
Nalino dharathe namo nama.

3. Adhi deva, sakala aagama poojitha,
Yadava kula Mohana roopa,
Vedothara Sri Venkata Nayka,
Nadha priyathe namo namo.

English Translation

Pallavi

My salutations and salutations to Narayana,
My salutations and salutations to one worshipped by Narada.

Charanam

1. Salutations to him with a body of beast and man,
Who killed Mura, Who is the Mukunda Madhava,
Who destroyed the sorrow arising out of birth,
Who rides on Garuda, Who has lotus on his belly,
Who is the divine male and who frees us from ties of birth.

2. Salutations and salutations to him who carries a lotus,
Who sleeps on water, who has sun and moon as eyes,
Whose feet are worshipped by Brahma sitting on a lotus,
Who subdued Maha Bali and the Lord of all Gopis.

3. Salutations and salutations to him who likes music,
Who is primeval God, Who is worshipped by all Vedas,
Who is the pretty one of the clan of Yadavas,
And who is the one who saved Vedas and is Lord of Venkata.

2. Parama Yogi, Jana bhagadeya sri,
Parama purushaa, parath paraa,
Parmathma, Paramanu roopa sree,
Thiru Vengada giri, Deva Saranu

English Translation

Pallavi

Oh God Narayana, Oh God Narayana,
Oh God Narayana, I surrender to your feet,

Charanam

1. Oh God who does good to friend of lotus,
Oh God with lotus like face,
Oh God who is partial to Lotus,
Oh God who is dear to lotus,
Oh God who has lotus like eyes,
Oh God who is partial to Lord Brahma,
Oh God who travels on Garuda,
Oh God who has lotus flower on his belly,
I surrender to your lotus like feet.

2. Oh great Yogi, Oh God who determines fate of people,
Oh Great divine Purusha, Oh more divine among divines,
Oh Divine soul, Oh God with a nano form,
I surrender to you God of Venkata Mountain.


Thandanana Ahi Thandhanana

Thandhanana bhata Thandhanana,
Brahmam okkate, Para Brahmam okkate,
Para Brahmam okkate Parabrhamam okkate.

Charanam

1. Gandhuvakku heenadhikamu lindhu levu,
Andhareeki Sri Hare Antharathma,
Indhlo Janthu kula mindhanaokkatte,
Andhariki Sri Hare Andarathma

2. Nindara Raju nidrinchu nidrayuyokkatte
Andhareeki bandu nidhra adhiyunokkatte,
Mendaina Brahmanudu metta bhoomi yokkatte,
Andhareeki Sri Hare Antharathma.

3. Anugudevatalakunu ala kama sukhamokatte
Ghanakeeta pasu vulaku kama sukhamokatte
Dinam ahoratramulu teki dhanadyunakokatte
Onara nirupedakunu vokkatte aviyu.

4. Korali Shishtannamulu gonu nakulokokatte
Tirukuthu dushtanyamulu tinu nakulokatte
Paragu durgandhamula pai vayuvokatte
Varusa Parimalamu Pai Vayovokate.

5. Kadagi Yenugu meedha Kayu yendokate
Pudami Shunakamu Meeda polayu yendokate
Kadu Punyulanu papa karmulanu sarigava,
Jadiyu Sree Venkateswara Namamokate.

English Translation

Thandhanana* ahi Thandhanana,
Thandhanana bhata Thandhanana,
Brahman is one, Para Brahman is one,
Para Brahman is one, Para Brahman is one,
* This is a sound keeping beat in a folk dance.

Charanam

1. There are no differences between the high and low people,
For the soul within them is nothing but Hari,
And in this all animals are same like us,
For the soul within them is nothing but Hari.

2. There are no differences in sleep between the king and his servant,
The sleep that comes to all of them is the same,
The earth that a Brahmin or Chandala stands is the same,
For in every one their soul is nothing but Hari.

3. The pleasure from making love is same for Gods and us,
Similarly for the insects and animals the pleasure of love making is same,
The day and the night is the same for the rich and the poor,
And for all beings these are always same.

4. For the one who eats superior food the toungue is one,
And For the one who eats condemned inferior food also it is same,
The air that carries the scent from place to place is same,
And so is the air which carries foul smell is the same.

5. The sun that shines over elephant in the forest is same,
And the Sun that shines over a street dog also is the same,
And very good blessed deeds and very sinful acts,
Are made same only by the name of Lord Venkateswara.
