[Most of the Hindu prayers are in verse. A form of verse called Dandakam, does not limit the number of words in a line. Still, it is also termed as Sanskrit Verse. Here is a very, very rare prayer Addressed to Lord Subrahmanya in prose. Similar to Dandakam, this entire prayer consists of only one Sanskrit sentence.]

Purahara nandhana, Ripukula bhanjana, Dinakara koti roopa,
Parihrutha loka thapa, Sikheendra vahana, Mahendra palana,

Oh son of the lord who destroyed three cities, Oh destroyer of all enemies, Oh god who has the form of billions of Suns, Oh God who removes pain of the people of this world, Oh god who travels on king of birds, Oh God who takes care of Indra,

Vidhrutha sakala bhuvana moola, Vidhutha nikhila dhanujakoola, Thapasa samaradhitha, Papaja vikaradhitham Tharunya vijitha maraakaara, Karunya salilapooraadhaara,

Oh root of all known worlds, Oh God who can sweep away ogres like a flake of cotton, Oh God who is being worshipped by sages, Oh God who is beyond emotions created by sins, Oh God who has the form of the young and pretty God of love, Oh God who is the ocean full of mercy,

Mayoora vara vahana, Mahendra giri nikethana, Bhakthi para gamya, Shakthi kara ramya, Paripalitha naaka, Pura sasana paka, Nikhila loka nayaka, Giri vithari sayaka, Mahadeva bhaaga dheya,

Oh God who rides on blessed peacock, Oh God who resides on Mahendra Mountain, Oh God who can be attained through devotion, Oh pretty God who holds the Vel, Oh God who protected the land of devas, Oh God who is the son of the God who controlled the three cities, Oh God who is the Lord of all worlds, Oh God who had arrows to split the mountain, Oh God who is the great gift given by Lord Shiva,

Maha punya namadheya, Vinatha soka vaarana, Vividha loka karana, Sura vairi kaala, Pura vairi Bala, Bhava bhandana vimochana, Daladhambhuja viloochana, Karunamrutha rasa sagara, Tharunamrutha kara shekhara,

Oh God who has very many blessed names, Oh God who removes huge sorrows, Oh God of death to the enemies of Devas, Oh God who is the son of the enemy of three cities, Oh God who gives freedom from binding of life, Oh God who has eyes similar to Lotus petals, Oh God who is the ocean of the essence of pity, Oh God who wears the crescent,

Vallee maana haree vesha, Mallee mala bharee kesa, Paripalitha vibhudha loka, Parikalitha vinatha soka, Mukha vijitha chandra, Nikhila guna mandhira, Bhanu koti sadrusa roopa, Bhanu kopa bhayadha chapa, Pithru manohaari manda hasa,

Oh God who assumed the form that stole the heart of Valli, Oh God who adorns his hair with a garland of jasmine, Oh God who protected the world of devas, Oh God who removes the sorrow of those who salute you, Oh God whose face is prettier than the moon, Oh God who is the store house of all good qualities, Oh God who is similar to billions of suns, Oh God whose bow was feared by Bhanu kopa, Oh God whose smile used to steal the mind of his father,

Ripu siro dhari chandra hasa, Sruthi kalitha mani kundala, ruchi vijitha ravi mandala, Bhuja vara vijitha saala, Bhajana para manuja paala, Nava veera samsevitha, Rana dhera sambhavitha Mano haari sheela, Mahendraari keela, Kusuma vishada hasa,

Oh God who has the sword to cut the heads oh his enemies, Oh God who wears ear studs made of gems which make jingling sound, Oh God who has more brilliance than the solar system, Oh God who hands are stronger than Sala trees, Oh God who protects those who sing about you, Oh God who is saluted by the nine heroes like Veera bahu, Oh God who is appreciated by those valorous soldiers of war, Oh god whose character steal or mind, Oh God who is like the nail weapon which fights against enemies of Indra, Oh God who has a smile, which is like a fully opened flower,

Kula shikari nivasa, Vijitha karana muni sevitha, Vigatha marana jani bhashitha, Skanda pura nivasa, Nandana krutha vilasa, Kamalasana vinatha, Chathragama vinutha, Kali mala viheena krutha sevana,SArasija nikasa shubha lochana, Ahaarya vara dheera,

Oh God who lives on top of the mountains,, Oh God who is served by sages who have won over their senses, Oh God who is praised by people who have won over death, Oh God who lives in Skandapuri, Oh god who plays in the garden of heaven, Oh God who is saluted by Lord Brahma himself, Oh God who is saluted by the four Vedas, Oh God who is being served by people affected by the Kali age, Oh god who has eyes as good as the lotus flower, Oh God who is similar to the great mountain,

Anaarya vara dhoora, Vidhalitha roga jaala, Virachitha bhoga moola, Bhogheendra bhasitha, Yogheendra bhavitha, Paka sasana pari poojitha, Naka vasini kara sevitha, Vidhrutha vidhyadhara, Vidhruma hrudhyadhara, Dalitha dhanuja vedanda, Vibhudha varada kodhanda,

Oh God who cannot be attained by people who are not gentlemen, Oh God who saves those caught in the net of diseases, Oh God who is talked about by the kings of pleasure who has won over pleasure, Oh God who is in the thought process of great sages, Oh God who is worshipped by Devendra, Oh God who is served by people living in heaven, Oh God who drove out Vidhyadharas, Oh god who steals the heart by his pear like lips, Oh God who killed Gajavakrasura, Oh God who has a bow that gives boons to devas,

Paripalitha bhoosaura, Mani bhooshana bhasura, Athiramya swabhaava, Sruthi gamya prabhaava, Leela visesha thoshitha Sankara, Helaa visesham kalitha sangaram Suma samara dhana, sasa dhara vadana,

Oh God who protects Brahmins, Oh God who shines ornamented with gems, Oh God who has bewitching good conduct, Oh God who has greatness known to Vedas, Oh God who makes Lord Shiva happy by his plays,Oh God who can win over enemies as if it is a sport, Oh God whose victory in war is certain and Oh God who has moon like face.
